The Kidnapped Retrieval

Traveler, if you came to avenge the crime that I have done,
You might get her in the end, but first you’ll have some fun.

My guardians protect this place, and will come at my command,
They listen for my order; they attack with danger at hand.

If you have the ransom gift, cry out, and my guards will
beat you back,
The minute your voice echoes, they launch a massive attack.

You will get sent home, licking your wounds, my guards’
doing, of course,
And I shall raise the kidnapped up as my own, with no
thought of remorse.

If you happen to beat my guards to the ground, my lair will
become visible then,
The magic and shields will be broke, with none to protect my
den.

Be warned, if you cheat me, I will certainly attempt to kill,
For though I restrain myself, out of attacking, I get a thrill.

Give me the ransom gift, and I’ll hand over the child,
Do not force more of my guards to run completely wild.

Now cry out, and see how well you do against my very best.
You cannot stop and turn around, when you are so far in your
quest.

Author's Notes

This is supposed to be a note left to a father going to retrieve his ransomed kidnapped child.
